The Lake Eland Extreme 80km Cycle Challenge race format is unique in that it comprises of a series of short races. A lap of 20km will be raced every 2 hours in batches, with prizes up for grabs on every lap.

The Lake Eland Extreme 80km Cycle Challenge race format is somewhat similar to a track cycling format. A lap of 20km will be raced every 2 hours in batches, with prizes up for grabs on every lap.

 

This is one of very few races in the world where competitors get to literally race amongst herds of zebra, eland, bushbuck, springbok and giraffe, to name just a few. Ride the climbs hard with majestic eagles soaring overhead urging you on with their calls, and descend beautiful trails worn smooth by the hooves of countless herds galloping across the plains.
